Miranda Lambert Moves on From Divorce, Opens Store in Texas

How can I move on after my divorce?

Miranda Lambert is taking steps to move on after her divorce from Blake Shelton.  Recently, she opened a new Pink Pistol store in Texas, moving on from her original store in Oklahoma, which she opened while still married to Shelton.  Lambert opened her Oklahoma boutique in 2011, shortly after her marriage to Shelton.  Now, one year after her divorce from Shelton, she is back in her hometown and starting a new chapter.  Lambert is also working to launch a new album that includes post-divorce songs.  While her divorce was devastating and made even more difficult due to a highly publicized romance between Shelton and rock singer Gwen Stefani, Lambert is in a good place and excited for the future.

How to Cope and Heal After Divorce

Divorcing your spouse can be an extremely challenging time.  No matter what the reason for the divorce, the end of a marriage can turn your world upside down.  There are several steps you can take, however, to allow you to move on from the divorce and emerge as a stronger person.

  1. Give yourself time to grieve the loss of the marriage:  Grief is a natural emotion to experience after a divorce.  You should allow yourself to experience the wide range of emotions you may be feeling without guilt.
  2. Share your feelings:  It can be helpful to share your feelings with your family, friends, or possibly even a counselor.  Spending time with those you love and being open with others can help in the healing process.
  3. Take care of yourself:  Going through a divorce can take a major toll on you psychologically and physically.  Take steps to nurture yourself.  Rest and pay attention to your needs.
  4. Explore what makes you happy:  A divorce is the beginning of a new chapter.  Use it as an opportunity to explore new activities and interests that bring happiness to your life.
